In vtiger it is possible to create views based on users permissions. E.g. you can define fields for sales managers, which are only visible to manager and above superior organisation roles. Or you can add e.g. Human Resource dependent fields, which are only visible to Human Resource profiles and to superior roles.
To modify the permissions of the fields do as administrator:
- open Settings menu
- go to CRM Settings
- go to User management
- go to Profiles
- select and edit the profile you want to limit or change the field permission
- On the right side of the table you will see a column “Field and Tool Privileges”
- Here you can edit privilege for each module and field
- per field you can select if the field shall be
- write
this field is editable for this profile - read
this field is read only for this profile - invisible
this field is not visible for this profile (and also not editable)
- write
- click on save to persist the changes
For what is this feature else helpful?
Lets assume you have external Tele-Sales-Agents, which shall only see relevant fields of a client, e.g. any details about revenue or margins shall be invisible to them. Or lets assume you want to have also your employees listed in the CRM under your organisation and the salaries are listed there. Of course you only want to have HR/Human Resource Managers and their supervisors to have access to these details.
